Friends in London

I'm listening to As Heard on Radio - a damn fine mixture on which all the tracks use samples and reference with nicely energetic sounds - which remind me of the first time I heard Mint Royale, one afternoon in a Coffs Harbour incense store. I figure because they were played on Radio one hear last week that they are well known - but no one seems to have heard of them.

In other news I rented a car (hired?) for a week last week and throughly enjoyed it. It cost me an outrageous amount of money which will no doubt be revealed in one of my far too open moments of financial graphing... but it was damn fine. I typically don't drive fast but this little car, which was far above the model I paid for, had a lovely pick-up that seemed a shame to avoid ;) I grabbed the car due to a cock-up at Glasgow airport - the keys opened the car in the wrong spot - but it worked for me anyway and I blasted off into the far too well-sign posted british countryside.

Catching up with old and good friends from school makes me realise what a nomadic existence these past few years have been. Yet I am very comfortable with the work that I'm doing and the situation that I'm in. Money is a drag but not too bad a situation - I realize that by british standards I'm doing quite well this summer and should be able to save a pretty penny for some European adventures.

Nina, Koene and Cynthia await and what more could anyone ask? Posted by james at June 9, 2003 03:15 PM
