distributed bootlegging app moves forward

Dave’s gone blogolicious with the development team for our wireless grid use case demo. There’s also a development team blog that will be swinging into action soon enough.

We’re aiming to be able to use the Grid technologies to allow groups of handheld devices to sharing their I/O and processors to record and live synchronize and mix stereo and, when we get it right, surround sound. So you’d be able to get a feed from someone up the front, someone in the mosh pit, a couple in the middle, and a few up the back and meld it into a surround sound experience that you can, with the permission of the band and songwriters, take home with you. The video version, great for sporting events, will, of course, be next.

I think it is a cool demo of the possibilities of bringing together the resources of mobile and wireless devices.

And Australia beat Romania. Enough of the minnows. Let’s get serious. Ireland in a week.
