This type of talk is part of the reason that the US is in trouble in Iraq and why I don’t have any confidence that they have any idea how to get things back on track.
“Diplomacy is just talk unless you have a credible force to back it up,” [Lt. Col. Brennan Byrne] said. “People will bend to our will if they are afraid of us.”
Bend to our will? Is that what the on the ground commanders think the mission in Iraq is?
